Geraldton Fishermen’s Co-operative is proud to be one of the first Co-operative’s in Australia to receive the Mutual Value Mark Accreditation (MVM) by the Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals (BCCM), Australia’s peak body for the co-operative sector.
MVM is the mark of a good mutual business. The framework prescribed under the MVM helps co-operatives and mutuals to measure their total value creation (“mutual” value) through a clearly structured set of common principles and shared language.
BCCM and researchers developed the ground-breaking MVM framework from Monash University’s Business School to benchmark value creation by co-operatives and mutuals across six dimensions of value.
Our Co-operative has adopted the MVM framework and adapted it to ensure it aligns with our language and the environment in which we operate. GFC’s strategic pillars are underpinned by the MVM framework to ensure our focus remains firmly on our Members and our community.
More information on the Mutual Value Mark can be found on the BCCM website or the Monash University website.
